BRIEF

The insectoid sentients of Sestus Prime were known as Cliks- a moniker earned by their “click and snapping” means of communication. First Contact Enforcer groups were sent planetside to begin negotiations for Strategic Security Base (SSB) building rights. Sestus Prime was considered an ideal Reflex Station (REFSTAT; forward position, fast response base) location from which support and force rotations could be maximized until the conclusion of current system stabilization actions. The Cliks attacked Conglomerate representatives, whereupon the local conflict quickly escalated to full scale war.

An egg-laying race, some Enforcer units were quickly overwhelmed by the seemingly unlimited number of Cliks coming to fight from the honeycombed underground of Sestus Prime. BIO-TACs accompanying the Enforcers took note of the surprising lack of evidence the Cliks were actual natives of Sestus Prime. By collecting soil and microbe core samples, they conducted several studies suggesting quite the opposite: that the Cliks were placed here at some point in the recent past. Once the fighting began, the studies were ignored for all but tactically useful intelligence.

CSV prototype Damocles was in the sector undergoing its space trials and was routed to Sestus Prime with an Omega Level Eradication directive. Damocles was joined by three Verto class MD/I ships to ensure an effective World Zeroing operation. Sestus Prime represents the first known use of a third generation Disruptive RAdiation GeOrganic Neutralization weapon (DRAGON). At its broadest settings, DRAGON is capable of destroying all organic matter in a specified (“Geo”graphic ) region. When utilized at its highest resolution it is capable of targeting a specific genome (“Organic”), leaving all other lifeforms unharmed. DRAGON is an evolutionary leap forward in spaceborne weapons systems but requires the immense power generated aboard late model capitol vessels and space stations.

PHYSICAL TRAITS

Six (6) appendages; comprised of four (4) dual-jointed arms with five (5) long, fully articulated fingers per hand, and two (2) legs. Average height estimated at 2.5m and weighing approximately 128kg. Unknown biological adaptions granted these ungainly looking creatures nearly instantaneous reaction times. This made them difficult to hit with standard projectile weapons. Two (2) large eyes are not faceted, but have a total viewing angle of 317 degrees. Primitive mandibles are positioned at each side of the mouth which seem to be the primary mechanism of their speech. A second set of “eyes” are suspected atmospheric “pressure sensors,” giving the Cliks astonishing “global presence” detection abilities (which makes sense given the hive type of existence they lead).

OFFENSIVE CAPABILITIES

Insectoid races typically exhibit mass number coordination styled attacks which take advantage of accelerated gestation/birthrates. Cliks were also surprisingly strong for their appearance, requiring FORCE-4 armor to avoid internal damage from their grenade-force strikes. Enforcers refer to an oncoming insectoid flood as “Bugarrhea.” Post Conflict Surveys (POSTCON) examination of the Clik eradication placed Clik-to-Enforcer ratios at 1,923:1. Cliks were considered a high risk adversary due to their unusually durable exoskeletons. The smooth, minimally disturbed arcs of the exoskeleton caused munitions to glance off their target an astounding 53.72% of the time without noticeable effect. New 8.32mm MCIS (magnetically launched incendiary shell; since called the “Bug Bullet”) munitions were required to achieve reliable lethal penetration.

DEFENSIVE CAPABILITIES

Robust, unusually rounded exoskeleton. Primary shelters located underground or built into stone hillsides. The equally puzzling, silicate-dense material comprising the exoskeleton also had properties found to disperse directed energy weapons using the visible light spectrum.

EXPLOITABLE ATTRIBUTES

Lack of vehicular transportation and relatively primitive, natural material weapons.
